Bunscoil na Cathrach is in the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore and the Board of Management work under the patronage of our bishop, Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan.
The Board of Management is responsible for the overall running of the school. It comprises of 8 members made up of:
Two nominees directly elected by the Bishop.
The principal of the school.
One teacher, elected by the school staff.
Two parents, one father and one mother, elected by the parent body.
Two other members nominated by the other six nominees on the Board.

The Board of Management sits for a four year term and meets to discuss and make decisions for the overall running of the school to provide the best possible education for all the children enrolled.
