There was lots of fun in 6B during Science Week as we investigated the reaction of acids and bases. We used the chemical reaction that occurs when bicarbonate of sodium is added to vinegar to produce carbon dioxide, to inflate a balloon. We also investigated the physical reaction that occurs when mentos sweets are added to Coke. We investigated how the different types of Coke reacted with the mentos sweets. We found that Diet Coke produced the greatest 'explosion'.
