Curious Minds Gold Award Winners
Last Friday, during an online awards ceremony watched by Class 3A, our school was awarded a Gold Curious Minds Award by Research Ireland.
This recognition was based on a submission highlighting the whole school's work in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM), as well as the collaboration between classes in these areas.
A big thank you to everyone across the school who participated in Science Week, Engineers Week and Maths Week. The children loved carrying out experiments, making Marble Runs during Engineers Week and completing lots of fun maths activities. All of this work was included in the Curious Minds submission to showcase the fantastic STEM activities happening throughout the school.
Below is the feedback we received from the Curious Minds team:
Congratulations to Bunscoil na Cathrach on all your work this year. Your log of evidence showed good engagement throughout the school in STEM activities, use of speakers and participation in local studies including Plastic Planet plastic degradation and the development of a school garden. There was lots of engagement with ICT and Technology and the creation of a STEM/ STEAM area was a great idea. Well done to the teachers and learners on all your hard work. You have gained a Gold Award. Comhghairdeas mór daoibh go leir.
