November 18th was a historic day in Bunscoil na Cathrach as our U13 ladies footballers won the first Cumann na Bunscoil County final for the school. Their opposition was Gaelscoil Nenagh and the game was played in Fethard Town Park. From the throw in, the girls played with massive heart and determination. They played superbly as a unit and showcased how teamwork pays off. They ran out comfortable winners in the end and the football talents on display was a sight to behold. We are so proud of the girls and the commitment they have shown throughout the campaign. A huge thank you to the Parents Council who sponsored the bus for the players. A lovely gesture indeed. Thanks to our wonderful students who supported the team throughout the game and it was lovely to hear the ‘Bunscoil’ chants around the field. We arrived back to the town with a garda escort and míle buíochas to Kevin for arranging this. Finally a big thank you to our wonderful school community for organising a guard of honour for the girls. It is a day we will never forget. Bunscoil abú!
