Students from Bunscoil Na Cathrach’s 2A, 4B, 5A, and Ms Carroll’s class enjoyed an action-packed Mini World Cup over the past week, bringing together pupils of different ages in a vibrant celebration of teamwork and sport.
Classes were mixed and divided into eight international teams representing England, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, and Germany. The tournament created a fantastic atmosphere around the school, with pupils collaborating across year groups and demonstrating excellent sportsmanship throughout.
The competition culminated today in an exciting grand final between England and the Netherlands. In a closely contested match, both teams played with determination and skill, but it was the Netherlands who emerged victorious with a 3–2 win.
Special thanks were given to referees from 6A, whose fair and efficient officiating helped ensure the tournament ran smoothly from start to finish.
The Mini World Cup proved to be a great success - It was just like being at the real thing !
