A big thank you to our very talented 6th Class pupil who gave an engaging and informative talk on Friday to both 6th Class and 1st Class about her passion for fishing.
Our pupil is a Munster Fly Fishing Champion and the first girl to achieve this accolade. Coached by her dad, she gave us a fascinating insight into the world of fly fishing.
She brought along her fishing rod and equipment, demonstrated how she casts a line and explained the different types of bait she uses. The pupils were captivated as she spoke about the many hours of practice she dedicates to her sport during the week and at weekends. Her commitment, determination and enthusiasm were truly inspiring.
She also presented a detailed project she had prepared on fishing, showcasing her extensive knowledge and love of the sport. Adding to her achievements, she recently received a mention on RTÉ One's Today show during Marty Morrissey's roundup of the local papers and has also been interviewed on local radio.
We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and grateful that she took the time to share her experiences with us. She is a wonderful role model for our pupils and a true inspiration to us all.
