6th Class School Tour to Dublin

8th May 2026
  • May 8th was an exciting day for 6th class as we all headed off for our long awaited trip to Dublin.

Our first stop was Croke Park where we walked the skyline and saw stunning  views across the city and out to the coast. This was followed by a tour of the stadium where we visited the dressing rooms and walked up the steps of the Hogan Stadium to the cup presentation area. We finished the tour in the museum area and tested our GAA skills.

After that we headed across the city to Kilmainham Gaol where we learned about the Easter Rising leaders who were imprisoned there and other Irish rebellion leaders over the years. We walked inside the cells and heard about the conditions in the prison during Famine times.

We finished our visit with a trip to the museum where we viewed lots of original memorabilia including Grace Gifford’s wedding ring.

Our final stop was at Junction 14 where we enjoyed a well deserved meal at Supermacs. An enjoyable and memorable day was had by all.
